In order to effectively prevent, control and eliminate the damages by the sudden accidents happening in the bridge-erection process, reduce the losses by the accidents to the large extent, maintain the social and enterprise business interest, protect the personnel and property security, we should develop a series of management measures aiming to the possible incidents. 

Some accidents such as the lifting injury, personnel falling, machine overturning and so on may occur in the course of the bridge erection. We sum up some items focusing on the accident-prone points, expect to further protect the personal and property safety and reduce the accident rate.

First, the selection of bridge-erecting equipments must meet the requirements of the project structure. The operator, commander must be trained and achieve the relevant certificates. The force component of the launching gantry must be tested and demonstrated by the experts before putting into the project. The test hoisting of the various of parts must be qualified. The command and contact signal need to be accurate and the full-time security personnel must be on site during the construction process.

Secondly, the front and rear support leg must be in good condition before operating, also the lighting device for the night construction must be equipped. The necessary prerequisite must be done well and the track barriers need to be removed ahead of time before the machine travels from one pier to the next. To accomplish the girder-lifting, the launching gantry needs to be cooperated with the beam transporter perfectly. Both the speed must be synchronized. Check that if the jack works normally while falling the girder to guarantee the girder fell into the proper place.

Finally, ensure that all the devices have reached the safe position, the power has turned off and lock the operator’s room and electrical cabinet after the end of the operation.
